Well of course it is! My birthday sets the stage for a fun month of celebrations and activities. This year we celebrated my birthday with a trip to the U.P. (Does that need to be capitalized?) It was kind of fun to be spoiled by people that I don't usually see on my birthday (minus the not so fun 7.5-hour drive) because the people that I do usually see still have to spoil me so it's like adding even more fun to the month!!!!
Traditionally I've also loved the month for the back to school shopping that used to be a (really fun) necessity but has now turned into a (really fun) frivolous way to spend my birthday money. Old habits are hard to break. I am no longer in school but I still feel the need to prepare for the year ahead of me....whether that's updating my wardrobe or organizing my clothes to prepare for winter. Don't worry honey, everything should settle down by October.
I also love September because we can look forward to three fun months with holidays in each...when you add in my birthday that's four months of celebrating! No wonder I feel the need to update my wardrobe. (insert sly smile)

Lazy days of summer.....
Yeah right! I have, however, finished three books this summer and we've spent several weekend days out on our new boat. I'm not quite ready to admit summer is almost over. I enjoy the warm weather a lot more than the snow and cold weather that winter brings. If summer has to come to an end then I will be excited for the arrival of fall, my second-most favorite season! Crisp mornings, pumpkin bread and apple picking...Mmmmm. Can't wait! Carson and I went for a 6.5 mile run this morning before spending some time at the park. I'm trying to decide if I am going to enter the 1/2 marathon this fall. Can I run that far? I'm not sure. Why do I want to run that far? I'm not sure about that either. Mike put the idea in my head and it seemed like a good challenge. I'll have to decide soon. Until then I'm just going to enjoy my beautiful summer day!

Life's Little Pleasures
Enjoying a cup of coffee and some homemade (but slightly overdone) banana blueberry bread on my porch while Carson naps. A quiet moment enhanced with a slight breeze on a balmy but sunny summer morning. And then...he wakes up!
